Yehovah’s Law to the Gospel

Bible Study

Bible study should be a part of our daily lives. It is only through a concerted effort can one begin to unravel the mystery that is the truth of Yehovah. We are admonished by the Apostle Paul to be like the Bereans who were diligent students of scripture.

Act 17:11-12 ESV  Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.  (12)  Many of them therefore believed, with not a few Greek women of high standing as well as men.

We are to be noble and be dedicated to understanding the truth. We can't sit on our laurels and go to church every week to hear some talking head tell us what to believe. We have to be diligently studying the word for ourselves as we're told to do.

Php 2:12-13 ESV  Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling,  (13)  for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.

We have to rightly divide the truth based on the ORIGINAL teachings handed down from Jesus to the Apostles.

Jud 1:3-4 ESV  Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints.  (4)  For certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

There are many who try to pervert the truth and lead us astray. This is Satan's goal! We are admonished in Timothy to hold on to the truth.

2Ti 3:14-17 ESV  But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it  (15)  and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.  (16)  All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,  (17)  that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

We have to let the scriptures be our teacher and we have to be willing to make change as change is needed. Through this process we will become more like our elder brother Jesus the Christ. It is through the process of constant and diligent study and prayer that we are transformed into a child of the Living God.

Rom 12:1-2 ESV  I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.  (2)  Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

2Co 3:18 ESV  And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
